Joe Franks developed a love for agriculture on his grandfather's farm. "Grandpa Joe" had a great influence on his grandson by teaching him the importance of hard work and the importance of family. The seeds that Joe's grandpa planted in him have guided Joe throughout his life.

Joe graduated from Northwestern High School in northwest Wayne County, Ohio. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. Joe went on to marry Betsy, his wife of over 50 years.

Joe began his career as a salesman with Nickles Bakery traveling Ohio in his bread truck. He had great success growing his region until he transitioned to the world of agriculture. Joe was a salesman for MoorMan's Feed Company and covered north central Ohio and, later, western Iowa.

In time, Joe moved into ownership of his own company where he continued in sales and added warehousing and distribution of ag products. His sons, Jim and Jeff have also been involved in the family business. Joe and Betsy operate JBF Distribution from Wayne County Ohio.

In early 2019, Joe's son Jeff bought the business and took on the role of President of JBF. He has hired on a few people to be on staff and he has moved all of the offices and products to our new warehouse. We are looking forward to all this year will have to offer!
